Your Excellency, President of the Republic of Uganda, General (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,
I receive with profound humility, immense gratitude, and an unwavering sense of patriotic duty Your Excellency’s gracious appointment of my person as Minister in the Office of the President in Charge of Science, Technology and Innovation.
This singular honour is not merely an elevation to public office; it is a solemn national trust, a call to stewardship, and a compelling mandate to contribute to Uganda’s scientific renaissance under your visionary leadership. I am deeply grateful for the confidence you have reposed in me and for the opportunity to serve our beloved nation at a defining moment in its transformation journey.
Your Excellency’s enduring commitment to science, technology, innovation, and industrial transformation continues to inspire a new generation of Ugandans to embrace knowledge, creativity, and self-reliance as the pillars of national development. Your visionary leadership has laid a firm foundation for Uganda’s transition from a predominantly raw-material exporting economy to a modern, knowledge-driven and value-added economy capable of competing on the global stage.
I am particularly inspired by Your Excellency’s unwavering belief in the power of innovation to solve societal challenges, create jobs for our youth, strengthen national sovereignty, and uplift household incomes. Through your strategic guidance, Uganda has increasingly positioned itself as a regional hub for scientific research, technological advancement, and innovation-led development.
As I assume this important responsibility, I pledge my utmost dedication, integrity, and loyalty to the service of our nation. I commit to working tirelessly with all stakeholders, scientists, innovators, researchers, academia, private sector actors, and development partners to accelerate Uganda’s scientific and technological progress in alignment with the National Development Agenda and Vision 2040.
I further pledge to support and deepen Your Excellency’s mission of fostering indigenous innovation, strengthening research ecosystems, promoting digital transformation, and empowering young innovators whose ideas hold the potential to transform Uganda and Africa at large.
