Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), on Tuesday hosted leaders from Allied Muslim Youth Uganda, Dusmans Daawa Initiative, and Taniim, Hijja & Umrah at her Kyambogo office, where she officially endorsed the upcoming 2026 Ramadhan Charity Run.

The delegation briefed her on preparations for the event, scheduled to take place on 15th February 2026 at the Herman Padel Centre in Nsambya. The annual run is designed to promote healthy living, strengthen solidarity within the Muslim community, and raise funds to support vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Speaking during the meeting, Hajjat Namyalo applauded the organizers for blending faith, fitness, and philanthropy into one impactful initiative. She noted that Ramadhan is a period that calls for sacrifice, discipline, and compassion toward those facing hardship.

“Ramadhan reminds us of our responsibility to care for others. Participating in this charity run goes beyond physical exercise—it is a reflection of our commitment to uplifting those who are less fortunate,” she said.

Drawing inspiration from the Holy Qur’an, Namyalo cited Surah Al-Baqarah (2:261), which likens charity to a grain that multiplies into abundant harvest, emphasizing that acts of generosity carry immense reward. She also referenced Surah Al-Ma’un (107:1-3), stressing that true faith must be demonstrated through support for the needy and vulnerable.

According to Namyalo, initiatives such as the Ramadhan Charity Run provide a practical avenue for believers to translate their faith into action. She pledged support from the Office of the National Chairman and encouraged Muslim youth, corporate entities, and well-wishers to register, purchase run kits, and contribute toward the cause.

“Let us commit ourselves to ensuring that every family has something to break their fast with this Ramadhan. Giving is not merely encouraged—it is a duty,” she emphasized.

On behalf of the organizing committee, Uthman Matovu expressed appreciation for the endorsement, describing it as a significant morale boost for the team.

“This event is not just about running; it is about reaching families in need and restoring hope and dignity during Ramadhan,” Matovu said.

He explained that proceeds from the run will fund the distribution of food packages and essential household items to disadvantaged families. Registration is currently ongoing, with participation kits available through designated contact points.

Matovu further called upon institutions, companies, and youth groups to partner with Allied Muslim Youth Uganda, Dusmans Daawa Initiative, and Taniim, Hijja & Umrah to broaden the initiative’s impact.

Held under the theme “Charity, Fitness, Fun,” the 2026 Ramadhan Charity Run is expected to attract participants from Kampala and neighboring areas, fostering unity and generosity as the community prepares for the sacred month.

The initiative is backed by Dusman Contractors, Ifraad, Spanish Tile City, Fana (0704 157 815), Maqam Travels, Allied Muslim Youth Uganda, Ruby Hospital, and the Herman Padel Centre.
