Kyanwanzi — On its sixth day, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders’ retreat at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi continued to shape discussions around governance, with a strong emphasis on helping legislators better understand the balance and coordination between the three arms of government.
The retreat has drawn together senior party officials, newly elected Members of Parliament, and key government figures, all focused on improving service delivery and aligning leadership efforts with Uganda’s national development goals.
Addressing participants, Adrine Kobusingye, the National Chairperson of the Women’s League, praised the unity and teamwork within the party. She described the retreat as a vital platform for strengthening knowledge, leadership skills, and collaboration within the National Resistance Movement.
She highlighted the ongoing efforts by Women’s League leaders and Women MPs-elect to champion women’s empowerment across the country, stressing the importance of connecting national leadership with grassroots communities through meaningful engagement.
Kobusingye reaffirmed the league’s dedication to advancing women through entrepreneurship, mentorship, and leadership development, under the stewardship of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
She encouraged Ugandans to draw inspiration from influential female leaders such as Janet Museveni, Anita Annet Among, Jessica Alupo, and Robinah Nabbanja, noting their significant contributions to national leadership.
She concluded with a call for unity and collective action in building a stronger Uganda where women play a central role in shaping the country’s future.
